Mama Doe
Today my baby girl is 2 years old. I cant believe i have had her 1 year and 6 months. Skye didnt have a good start in life. She lived with her brothers and sisters in a 4ft hutch. When Pepsi was lonely i had persuaded my mum that he needed a friend to keep him company. When she finally said yes i was looking on gumtree and preloved and rescues. Then on the 12th Feburary 2012 i saw Skye advertised. I immediatley contacted the seller and asked if we could reserve her. Then on the saturday 15th feburary me and my dad travelled to go and pick her up. She was very nervous on the way home. When we got home i put her in her cage. She lived inside for the first week so she could get used to household sounds as she lived on allotment from birth so never heard them. It took her a few days to get used to her cage and eat and drink.
This was the day i brought her home
She was on a muesli food and had never had any hay but suprisinly her teeth were in good condition. As she wasnt eating i mixed a bit of the pellets in with the food and she was eating the pellets and leaving the museli so i just switched her fully onto pellets. After 1 week with me she was eating hay and was weeing in a litter tray.
I introduced her a pepsi together in the bath tub as it was a place neither bun had been. After 5 days they were happy to be left alone together and got on great.
This is on the 2nd day and they were both snuggling each other.
Each day together there bond became stronger and each day she became more mischevious.
Eventually she reached maturity and started spraying wee. It took me a quite a while to save up the money for her to be spayed but we got it done and i am so happy we did.
She is always binkying in the garden and her and pepsi are always snuggling and grooming each other.
