Insurance query

Hi folks

Just wondered if I could pick your brains re claiming on insurance!

I'm wanting to claim for the cost of Skye's medication - I asked my vet to write up a prescription and ordered it on Viovet as it's much cheaper than getting from the vet direct (and getting close to the limit on the insurance so I might as well save costs where I can just in-case!) - however when I go to fill in the form the first section is all my details to fill in, and the bit about the cost etc has to be filled in by the vet :? even though I'm not technically claiming for vets fees.

Is there another claim form I need?

Just thought i'd ask to see if anyone knew before I have to ring them up (takes ages )

I'm with petplan. I fill in the first part of the form as usual and give it to the vet along with the invoice for the medication. The vet sends it off as a claim like normal. I fill in two claim forms at a time - one for vet fees (i.e. the consult and meds I don't get online) and one for the meds. The claims are processed and paid separately. Some insurance companies may also wish to see the original prescription.

Thanks :D I'm going to the specialist with her next week (where this claim is going to) so I will copy the invoice and fill in another form and take it with me. If it's done another way I'm sure they will let me know, but it saves me going unprepared and having to post it etc.
