  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Young Bun
Our rabbit snowy attempt to jump onto her logs earlier, she unfortunately slipped and fell a little awkwardly. She has been hopping around but doesn't seem herself. She keeps lying down and every ten seconds keeps switching positions or moving around like she can't get comfy.

Has anyone else seen this behaviour before? What do people recommend? She has seemed more tired today as she is usually very energetic but I just don't want her to be in any pain?

She is sat asleep inside at the moment

Any advice will be great, thanks!

Have you examined her to see if there is any sign of a fracture ? It sounds as though she is in pain so I would call your Vet's out-of-hours service now to obtain some advice. At the very least she sounds as though she needs some analgesic cover.

Good news, she is an outside bun but we brought her in to keep an eye on her. We took her outside to put her back and since she has had a few hops around. I think we might have to keep an eye on her and if she is no different we will take her to the vets after work tomorrow
