Caring for a (non-rabbit) wildie.

Lobo

Mama Doe
A couple of weeks ago we found this little skink in the backyard with a sibling that unfortunately was already dead. Although she was barely alive and extremely cold we took her inside to give her heat and food in the hope she would pull through. After 3 days she finally started to eat and drink and is slowly getting stronger, although she does have an injured front leg.

She eats about a quarter of a teaspoon of mostly protein each morning and then spends around 12 hours under her heater. When we first found her she weighed 30 grams, a whisker over 1 ounce, fully grown they weigh 600-900 grams.

We call her she but she could easily be a male - they are very hard to sex when young.
