My 11 bunnies

JILL11

New Kit
Hi! I have 11 bunnies. I only bought my first bunny at a pet store. His name is Zipper. I rescued Lucy, Franklin (aka Franki-lynn), Asher and Lola from the Humane Society. Dr. Fluffypants was a rescue from in town and she ended up being pregnant and had 4 babies which only 2 survived. Her babies are Wallee and Grady. Then I rescued Sony and Tika from the freezing winter weather. And finally I rescued Toffee from Animal Control.

Here are my first two bunnies - Zipper and Lucy. Lucy is the lop.

I adopted Asher from the Humane Society. He had fur mites, an eye infection and diarrhea when I got him. He was dumped and found running through someone's yard. Animal Control picked him up and took him to the Humane Society. After a few months, we went back to the Humane Society to get Asher a girl friend to bond with. Lola was Asher's choice. Her previous owner became homeless and relinquished her.

Here are Asher and Lola playing on our deck. Lola is the black one.

When I was adopting Asher at the Humane Society, they talked me into adopting Franklin. She was returned to the shelter twice due to aggression. She is people, cage, food and other rabbit aggressive or so they told me. We have had her a year and a half and never had a problem with her. Franki-lynn, as she is now known, is an angel. She is almost 7 years old.

When I rescued Dr. Fluffypants (my son named her) she was super skinny, had knots and mats all over and had urine stained feet. Within a week of adopting her, she had 4 babies under my son's bed. Only 2 made it because she was so malnourished. And I had to supplement one of the babies. Fully pregnant, Dr. Fluffypants weighed 3.2 lbs. My vet wants her at 4 lbs. Now she is 3.88 lbs. Wallee turned out to be a female and she weighs 3.44 and Grady is a male and he is 5.1 lbs. My son always jokes that I supplemented Grady too much.

Dr. Fluffypants is the white one, Grady is the grey one and Wallee is the brown one.

Sony and Tika were outside bunnies. They were out in the bitterly cold -15 weather of last winter. They got snowed on and their water was frozen. They had never been handled or held. I drove an hour north in the snow to pick them up last January. Now they are spoiled indoor bunnies. We found out Sony is deaf.

Sony is the Californian and Tika is his sister and litter mate.

Awwwww. Amazing stories... And beautiful pictures of your fury-family. I love them all :)oops:) but there's something about dr Fluffypants that makes me want to cuddle her.

It's interesting what you said about Franklin... My 1st rabbit as an adult was from a pet shop (I didn't know any better then ) she was all alone in a tank and the sales-woman I spoke to said that she was aggressive. With people and with other rabbits. But she won my heart and I brought her home. We had her spayed and found her a friend. Aggressive? Nope. She's obviously the dominant one of her pair - but Stanleigh is very loving. :thumb:
