  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Bunny in stasis

dumblepaws

Mama Doe
Waffles is in stasis
She was ok this morning but floppy and not eating tonight
She went straight to vet and got emeprid and metacam and critical care. Hoping t works overnight, if not back to the vet for GA and full investigation
:(

She was still not well at 2am, but is now hopping around and jumping and eating hay and banana

She's such a cutie - we put her in a canvas pen overnight, with a litter tray, but as soon as I let her out this morning and had panicked over lack of poo/wee she went straight to her normal inside litter tray and did a huuuuuuge wee!

Going to hang with her for the next few hours as she's still not eating as much as a normal bunny

Thank you so much for all the vibes - really helped :)

Thanks

And yep, pooed a few minutes after her wee. They're darker than usual but within normal range

She's currently jumping on everything

Am going to bring her brother in now to see if they're still friends. He had a rubbish bedside manner so keeping them together wasn't right for them this time

Interestingly she's less interested in her normal favourites (parsley and coriander). I think they're a bit strong for her

She's had some pellets and hay but keeps hoping over to graze on her forage - so thank you for sending it parsnipbun, it's a huge hit

Good bun Waffles, keep up the eating of that forage :thumb: more vibes to be back to her usual self x
