  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Bunny is having an "off" couple of days.

Do you think buns can have "off" days.

My candy is a mystery.

All week she has had minimal droppings and not eating, I thought it was her teeth but I took her to the vets and she was fine and her guts were fine?!

She literally passed hardly any droppings for almost a week but was urinating and still running around like a loon. She also went off her food.

I think maybe I upset her by giving her a different hay because yesterday I scrubbed her cage and gave her everything the same except the hay and she's now eating like a horse and pooping?!

She worries the life out of me!

On the plus, still going strong with her teeth!!

Saying that she did have an upset tummy the other day so I stopped with any greens for a couple of says to settle it, seems odd ...

Is your vet rabbit savvy as I would be worried if she went off her food and there wasn't hardly any toileting.

Doughnut is a bit "off" when she's moulting, she isn't as lively, just a bit quieter I guess but still eating a lot.

He is rabbit savvy, specialises in rabbit medicine and is an exotics specialist so would hope so! He's always very good with her.

She's seems fine now; it was just a bit odd.

Mine has off days both in health and in her moods. I guess they are just like humans in some ways ! ;-)
