Please Note - Medical Advice
Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.
You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.
We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.
Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.
I dont have time right now but if you search for threads by 'The Duchess' who runs 'The Rabbit Crossing' she has an awesome vet and is in Surrey, close to the M3 J3 - around Windlesham?
Just been looking and the vet that Helen (The Duchess) always comments upon is Ivan Crotaz, who is an awesome vet. He's currently based out of Vets4Pets Newbury, if that helps?

thank you both so much - Windlesham is about a half an hour drive and Newbury is about an hour drive away, im going to carry on with the appointment at the local vets at 5:30 today and will get them to assess the problem and will also talk to her about the rabnit specialist vets you have both kindly mentioned and if treatment is needed we will get her referred there with all her records thankyou both xI hope Helen doesn't mind me posting for her in her absence - she uses Windlesham Vets I believe - a lady called Gill
thankyou, thats only a half an hour drive away
thankyou I will check them out aswell! the bunnies are spoiled for options!Trinity Vets in Maidstone are excellent with rabbits.
a few of us on here have used them for different situations.
Good luck
sounds worth the journey then if bella needs further treatment as im worried the vets might try and just give up on her leg if its anything serious when I dont really want a 1yo rabbit to lose a leg if it could be fixed! what can I say im an over thinker :lol:I can't say enough good things about Trinity. Mark has saved many bunnies lives and helped Doughnut when other specialist have said she was well and he looked her in the eyes and said she is very unwell!
Definitely. I knew something was seriously wrong with Doughnut but no one believed me, I was in tears when Mark said how unwell she was that he actually believed me.
Have a look at him on the internet, Mark Rowland, everyone has great praise for him. He doesn't do unnecessary treatment and is very reasonable cost wise, he always tries to keep it down. I don't think I would have Doughnut if it wasn't for him or she would be living a life of pain.
I know others I've spoken to at the vets have said he's saved their pets lives. One rabbit's heart stopped during surgery and he got it started again by massaging it. I recommended him to someone else on here and she couldn't believe the difference between him and her normal vets and like I said he doesn't charge any more.
oh wow! im glad doughnut is better now xDefinitely. I knew something was seriously wrong with Doughnut but no one believed me, I was in tears when Mark said how unwell she was that he actually believed me.
