pets at home and pet shops

I had to go to pets at home today to pick some dog shampoo up but each time I go in there it breaks my heart.

I cannot stand seeing all the beautiful bunnies in the cages I just want to take them all home with me.

I admittedly got my bun from there, but since all her issues and finding out about the breeding farms I just am so glad I have her and I can give her the care she needs and deserves.

It's the same with other pet shops selling them so freely.

They require such specialist care and I can just imagine a huge percentage go to a family with no knowledge of rabbits and neglected

My sister's friend has a rabbit for her children and does nothing with it it lives in a hutch, never comes out nothing. And the hutch is apparently so small, I just want to go and get it and give it the life it deserves.

I wish they would stop selling them this way. There are so many rescue bunnies that need loving homes and are properly looked after.

Once I move I am going to add to my bunny family and get a couple of rescue ones.

I refuse to go back in pets at home now, it just upsets me.

Probably the same thought we all have each and every day. I know I went through a period of wanting to take every bunny home with me.

My partner actually said to be the other day about my two ''If only you had waited to get a pet'' meaning we should have waited until the utility was done out, all I could think was ''Yes but they would probably be on their own in a hutch in a garden, they wouldn't even know each other!''

We have to realize that we can only help a select few. Its unfortunate but its the way things are. In many years time when I am retired I would love to open a sanctuary at my home. But until then I can only help those I have space for. And that makes me sad all the time.
