  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Riverside Vets?

Bobkins

New Kit
Hi, I've got to get my little boy neutered very soon, he's coming up to 17 weeks. I wondered if anyone on here has used Riverside Vets, near Eastleigh, Hampshire? They actually prefer to wait till buns are 6 months old but everything I read points to around 16 weeks being the best age. He's quite a hefty dwarf lop :)
Any advice gratefully received :)

Catherine09 is in your area - sure she wouldn't mind if you sent her a PM.

Hi

Babsie very kindly sent me a PM on your behalf to alert me to the thread :)

I don't have any specific experience with Riverside

I use Pet Doctors in Chandlers ford on Bournemouth Road (just by jnct 13 of the m3) - the main vet is Michael Hoad and he is really good. I wouldn't say he is an exotics specialist but he is experienced with small furries and also will refer up a case if it's above him (like he has just done with my Skye) which IMO is great as I know he is being totally honest and open with me - what you need from a vet!
