  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

i thought myxi and vhd vaccinations were seperate injections and i read that they should be 2 weeks apart, but i just phoned my vet to ask some questions and she said its one vaccination that covers both of them...is that right? It's £24 does that sound right?

Yep, as elmoandfern said there is a new vaccine. A lot of people get tripped up over this - many of the older rabbit websites still have information about the separate vaccines and it can get confusing!

£24 sounds like a great price. It can be between £20 and £40 depending on the vets and where you are.

Yip, loads of us on here have went for the combi vaccine for our buns, its much better imo.

Combi vaccine is brill - mine didn't even get a lump after he'd had it :) £24 is a great price!! I'm sure I end up paying near £40!

God I pay more than £40. Whenever I read how much people pay for their vets I think Yorkshire or this part at least must be really expensive for vets

I pay £40, but I do get a free bag of excel... When I feed science selective

Never mind I now have 6kg of excel to drop into my old work (a rescue) next time I am near thanks to Thor, Loki and Farore's vacs! :thumb:
