  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

he is about 9/10 weeks. he is having an x ray tomorrow to rule out leg/spine issues. could it be ec? if so will treatment make hime better or is the outcome not good? i really feel for her :( any advice i can give?

It "could" be EC or orthopaedic. Either way he really needs a vet. If it is EC, the sooner it's treated, the better the outcome. Good luck.

Sorry, yes. I see he's having an X-ray. My mistake. I suspect the only thing is to wait to see the outcome. :)

they said he nearly broke his spine and is on anti inflamitries, cant jump about etc...

how would they know it 'nearly' broke exactly?:? would they be able to see inflamation?

Yes i daw them yesterday. Its at the base of his spine. It is slightly bent. He fell and hit it on a cabinet but didn't suffer the effects until a day later. He is on pain relief and can now sit up. When he moves you can see his feet trying yo get in the right position do there id still feeling there. He licked me! :)
