Finally found a vet I'm happy with!!

I am so excited right now.

I've been really let down by my vet in the past couple of months. It started when Luna and Lana were spayed and they sent Luna home congested, with discharge and sneezing, just after waking from the anesthetic. They said they'd given her an injection of antibiotics so she'd be fine now and she clearly wasn't. She got worse and worse throughout the night and I'm honestly surprised she pulled through. On top of that she was in so much pain after me being refused any metacam for her that it took me 48 hours to get her to eat and multiple trips to the vet. After the sneezing and congestion got worse I took her back to the vet who gave her a short course of Baytril which did nothing. I went back and they told me they'd given me the wrong dose, they then charged me for another which also did nothing  (New vet told me today that was again the wrong dose) After that I lost all faith in them and today got them an appointment in a vets near my parents house.

These vets took me way more seriously than the other ones ever did. It was hard work because my old vets won't give the new ones the bunnies medical notes. They rang me asking if it was ok to do so, I said yes and then they just didn't. GRRR. So, I had to just try my best to remember everything. The vet definitely told me what's what about them both having snuffles and that they probably won't get better, unlike the other vet who would just skirt around the issue all the time. He told me all the options and has started them out on a 3 week course of the highest dose of Baytril they can get. I'm then going to go back to see where to go from there. I'm really happy that I finally have a plan of action! I just felt like I was doing nothing at all before while the rabbits were getting worse but now I know exactly how bad they are and what I can do to make them improve. If this doesn't work he said he can teach me how to give them penicillin injections but that's a last resort because they'd be on them indefinitely and their insurance doesn't cover respiratory problems

Sorry for this big wall of text I'm just reeeeeeeeeeeeally happy that I've found a vet that seems to know what they're talking about finally!

It's great to know you've found a good vet. I panic like mad when I know mine's on holiday :(.

The actual bunny specialist was on holiday yesterday so I was just seen by one of the other vets. I feel very confident knowing that even when there's no bunny specialist my bunnies are still going to get good care :D Yay.
