Thank you Jane. He has gone down hill really quickly. He was covered in poo this morning. It was from his bum to his neck and it was very smelly. I tried to clean him up with baby wipes but ended up having to bath him. I know that bathing is not usually recommend but there was no other way. He has a few fur mats where he cannot keep himself clean. Gypsy used to groom him. I had been grooming him but didn't do a good enough job his fur is very thick. I may have to ask the vet to clip it so he stays a bit more clean and comfy. I think he may have arthritis and maybe cannot clean himself. I have no Iidea why he had poo all over him. It is a big big worry. He sometimes gets a messy bum, but I have never seen anything like it was this morning. He looked like a bad neglect case, even though I know he wasn't like it yesterday.
He is very quiet and not right. His poo isn't runny now but it is really small. He isn't right at all
Thank you for all vibes and well wishes. Thank you also to parsnipbun for your recomendation. Your vets sound amazing and we all know how hard a good bunny vet can be to find.
I think I have found a good one too not only was there a " rabbit friendly," poster thingy on the door the staff all knew what they were talkIing about. The lady I saw was very knowledgeable. I also over heard some excellent advice given to another bunny owner.
Storm isn't as bad as I feared. It looks as though he does have some arthritis and is being given metacam. His fur mats were clipped whilst he was conscious as they didn't want to put an almost 9 year old French lop under if they didn't have to. His bum problem could be due to his arthritis and maybe be cause he is in a bit of pain with it. I thought his eyes looked bad but apparently they are fine. Gypsy used to clean them for him so they used to look perfect.
Storm being quiet could be because of arthritis and maybe the fur mat was pulling a bit. I feel awful about his fur he just has so much of it and can't manage it. Gypsy used to help him. I need to help him more now. I was told that the vet had seen bunnies in much worse of a state and less than half his age. I still feel like I failed him though
I have more confidence in this vets. I didn't have to tell them what treat ment I thought was best. I was told what was best for storm. He wasn't " just a rabbit, " they had time for him
Hi. Does anyone know which vets it was in peterborough that Sparkle fairy found?
