We have baby hamsters!

We (Walsall RSPCA) had 4 syrian hamsters arrive via an Inspector recently, sadly they were all mixed sex groups and little Miss Buttercup surprised us with a litter of 9 babies! The babies were 2 weeks old yesterday, they have just started coming out their nest and today i noticed their eyes are beginning to open

wow congrats! it's so exciting when they start venturing out and you can finally get a good look at them!

I had a surprise litter of hams (russian campbells) once, she had 7 pups. The 5 boys I kept in one cage and the mother and her two daughters in another cage. It was wonderful part of the reason why I'm such a big advocate of keeping dwarfs in groups, they had a great bond.
