Current estimated figures for number of rabbits and guinea pigs in rescue

Does anyone know what the current estimation is, please?

I've just complained with regard to the care of some piggies at a garden centre and want to also put my complaint in writing so need to get my facts right.

Also, do degus have the same hay requirement as bunnies, piggies etc, ie unlimited hay available at all times? I've never had degus, but I assume they are the same as buns, pigs and chinchillas with regard to hay.

I feel really dismayed that yet another garden centre has gone down the live animals route. Yet another place that is now on my banned list. :roll:

I don't know about guinea pigs, I couldn't find any figures.

And I'd no idea about a degu diet, but I looked on google and found this site http://www.degutopia.co.uk/degudiet.htm which states that roughage is the single most important part of a degus diet.

I've not followed this up with the garden centre yet, had to have Wally pts at the weekend and I've not been able to put my mind to anything. I will be onto it as soon as I can get my brain to function.
