Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Hi does anyone know of a rabbit savvy vet in this area? We use companion care at te moment based in pets at home in Stockport and I just think we may need a second opinion on my poorly bun xxxx

Hi Kelly, I am in the same area as you and I have being going to Molly Varga at Cheshire pets which is in holmes chapel as she is very experienced in rabbits. I usual use my local vets but if I need anything they can't work out then I use Molly. She is very good and knowledgeable.

Thanks all :) I'm just at my usual vets now see what they say really worried about my poorly boy I don't want to loose him xxx

I use the one in Marple. At least they understand that when you ring them to say a bun isn't eating it's dangerous to leave them and they will always tell you to bring them in straight away.

i highly recommend aidan at ashleigh vets. he also used to work with molly varga aswell so know she is also excellent.

to be honest, i wouldn't waste your time with a non rabbit savvy vet. i would take him straight to a rabbit vet where he will get the best treatment.

good luck x

Hiya,
I'm in stockport and use the Ashleigh vets - it's only 15 mins away from stockport and they are brill! I've heard good things about the stockport companion care but Ashleigh vets are the best for buns IMO :)

Forgot to mention which vet... I've only ever had Aidan (at Ashleigh vets) treat an african pygmy hedgehog and normally get Sergio who is excellent with Fergie (even when he's being horrible and kicky) so could definitely recommend him!
Hope your bun gets better soon! :)

He passed away Saturday night :( decay seed xxx he deteriorated quick on sat and rushed him to ane but he passed away :( heart broken xxxxx

Thank you xxxx I posted in rainbow bridge so you can see his tribute their xxxxx miss him everyday but when I look at pics and his little face reminds me of the happy times xxxx miss being a bunny mum to him
