Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. I don't think the plant eaten was green alkanet due to the differing flower colours.

Thanks. :)

either way if it looks the same it was probably related if it was not a bulb plant or something like ivy and he only ate a small amount he should be fine just keep an eye on him

so sorry to butt in here, but noticed you mention Ivy - I have spent a long time getting rid of ivy in the garden but both my bunnies managed to find a couple of loose leaves and ate them, this was over a week ago and they seem ok - is ivy really poisonous?

thanks

If it was a week ago I'd say they're fine, but ensure they don't find anymore leaves!

I've ripped it all out from the patio area, but there are 2 very big roots of it in a walled flower bed which is about 2 ft high around the patio edge- do you know what i can do to get rid of the roots? they are so big i cant dig them out! Ive used an axe and chopped it down as much as possible, ive heard you can use a chemical but dont want to use anything that is harmful to the buns

Could you protect/block it off with mesh or similar?

thats the start of the wall in pic, to the left the flower bed starts and the root is in there, maybe I could fit a mesh grid over it?

if your bun was to sit and demolish a whole plant then it would definitely be a danger to them. i am sure there are far more poisonous plants out there but what you have done so far sounds good! personally i would kill it off completely you can get a poison that works in a different waysthat wont harm bunnies as long as you keep them away for a couple of days.
