  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Kynoch Vets - Which branch?

We are hoping to get Neo to see a vet on Tuesday when they are open, but I'm not hugely comfortable with the two vets he has seen previously.

These are the different practices:

And I'm not sure which have rabbit savvy vets? They are all about 20 mins drive from us so wouldn't matter too much but hoped someone has experience with them!

If you don't mind driving to Newbury, Ivan Crotaz now works there at Vets 4 Pets. He is extremely bunny savvy and used to work at Kynoch, but moved a couple of years back. I've seen him a couple of times, and travel the 40 mins to get there for specialist cases

My rabbits use yourvets, which if I am honest I really wouldn't recommend (at least not my local practice). However my dog uses downes vets and they were great (my poor dog broke her leg but the vets there were amazing!). I have no idea if there is one near you but downes has had a lot of great reviews from all types of animal owners.

Hi there Freekinfreak

I am the rescue that Lucy refers to in her post above as Windlesham Vets do all of my rabbit work. But I do also have experience with all of the branches of Kynochs (and also with Vets4Pets Newbury).

I have pm'd you and am happy to give any advice that might be helpful for choosing the vet that is right for you and your bunny. Feel free to e-mail me if it's easier. therabbitcrossing@yahoo.co.uk

I hope that you managed to get seen on Tuesday.

Helen
