  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Further problems with Coco

Hi all I posted sometime ago about coco being ill with a lump that was full of infection. This lumps now gone but we have further issues.
She has lumps on her face around her mouth and whiskers she's lost the fur at this point and her whiskers on one side and it's extremely sore for her. She has the lumps on both sides of her face going from under her nose to the back of her cheeks.
She also has discharge from her "ahem" areas again it's like a yellow thick substance and she shaving problems passing stools and weeing.
She's not her usual self and I have booked her into the vets again, I am just wondering if she is in pain which she is should the vet be treating her and at what point to we stop the treatment?
She's not been herself for ages

Poor Coco! Bunny sounds very ill and hopefully your Vet will give you the best advice. She must feel dreadful

I don't want her to be in any pain. When she urinates it's very dark as well. Looks almost like blood. She's only been showing signs of being ill since last night.
I don't wanna loose her but if she is in pain then I will do the right thing.

Sadly coco died in my arms at the vets at 1730. She had cancerous lumps and abscesses. The vet thought she might last through the weekend but as she was in pain we took the right choice and put her to sleep.
Rest in peace coco

I am so sorry for your loss. Rest in peace dear Coco.:cry:

She will now be at Rainbow Bridge, where she will be restored back to full health and enjoying life albeit in parallel world.

Take care David, and remember many of us do understand how the loss of a dear furry friend can deeply affect us.

Oh I am so sorry for your loss. Such a very sad choice to have to make but at least she died in your arms. RIP Coco.
