The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Combi vaccine?

Hi all,

Is there just 1 type of combination vaccine now? just asking as one vets has quoted £36 per rabbit and another vets has quoted £23 - quite a difference...

I usually take them to the more expensive vets as i used to work there, but I wouldnt mind saving some money, however I dont want them to have a lower quality vaccine, if that even exists?!

Thanks :D

It should be the one vaccine now, my vets charge £20.50 for the combi, the more expensive (and terrible..) vets down the road to them is about £40 I think.

Mine charge £36 p/v for my three! There often seems to be quite a price difference between vets. I wouldn't go anywhere else though as there is a rabbit specialist there who I've been seeing for ages :)

I remember mine being £30 ish last year - I think prices depend on if they stick a consult fee on. I've worked in a vets where they stuck a £9.50 injection fee on - that was ridiculous!
I'd probably go with the cheaper one - should be the same vaccine :)

Well it didnt go as smoothly as I hoped it would

Got into the consult room with the vet and a last year of uni vet came in after, she wanted to vax them as she hadnt done rabbits before - I had to learn once so I agreed yep that's fine....

Wasted 1 vaccine on Arthur and got the 2nd in... then wasted another on Pearl, and then told me they had ran out!

Was told I had to rebook her, so going in on Sat now... left not so happy so rang them back and spoke to the vet (qualified one), she told me that Pearl's will be free now, I told her that maybe it would be a good idea to practice on bunnies when they are under anaesthetic, that's how I learnt before injecting rabbits that weren't asleep.

Now I have 2 bunnies with vaccine covered fur and a little grumpy

Halfway there!

Blimey  Hope the rabbits are ok.

Our vet charges 24.00 for the combi and that includes a thorough check up, including a tooth rasp for Mottle this last time.

This will be me in just over a year... Think I'll ask for anaesthetised buns first! Terrified!

It's not a lot different to dogs and cats, just the skin is thinner and they have softer fluffier hair to deal with!

I practiced with giving fluids when the buns were under :)

Wow I can't believe the price difference. ....I paid £19.80 for Baxter's injection last week and the vet gave him a thorough check over including his teeth!
I've had Baxter for two years now but he is my first and only bun so I don't have anything to compare to......... :)
