Hi, hoping for some advice - I've had Coco since she was 8 weeks old, she is now 14 weeks old. At about 9 weeks old we started noticing her drinking more and urinating a lot (at the worst about 8-10 times in one evening - she'd probably drank 400ml in 24 hours that day) drinking about 250-300ml of water per day (she was 0.9kg at the time), she went to the vets who gave her a 10 day course of Panacur and Baytril - she also was wormed by the breeder at 6 weeks with Panacur. After about 8-9 days of being on the antibiotics her water consumption reduced and has been at about 100-150ml per 24 hours since. However the excessive drinking and urination has returned, yesterday she drank a whole 250ml in the evening and I filled it up and she had drank another 75ml over night so 325ml in 24 hours. She went back to the vets last night who advised he is not sure without tests (which he quoted as £400-500) what the problem is, he isn't sure if the Baytril even cleared it last time as it took a while to kick in. He said it could be behavioural and that her kidneys feel fine. He advised to see if it gets worse this week or clears up and he will give her antibiotics again if we want to do that.
I don't really know what to do, she could have been stressed, we've got her half brother 2 weeks ago so there is a new rabbit in the household and we also had to go away for a few nights last week (it must heave started then - I noticed a lot of wee on my return) so our parents came to look after them in our home - my mum had to swap their living arrangements as the new bunny had managed to escape into her enclosure (luckily she found them sitting together getting on), so she has had a swap of homes - although it's not completely new to her she had the whole enclosure I'd build prior to him being here. But bascuially where her litter trays where has changed. The vet suggested spaying her at 20 weeks if she is big enough and said he could do the tests then to reduce the cost as she will be under anthestic then anyway. She's a bit of a nervious bunny anyway so I'm not sure if it's just stress or something a lot worse. The first time it happened I had had to clean her bum & belly up as she's got mucky with ceatrophs - so this probably stressed her out and the syringe feeding the meds wasn't pleasant for her either.
She doesn't seem in any pain and still has a very healthy appeitite and is pooping normally. Any views? Thanks!!
