Many, many more people care these days than in the past.....in my experience. :)

Today is 16th February.......already one week in August is fully booked for bunny and guinea pig boarding.

People do and are caring correctly for their furry families. Many even book their furry families' holidays before they book their own.

I hope that this thread will give some positive support to rabbit welfare. Over 12 years of caring for small animals, I have really seen a great demand for specialist rabbit and guinea pig care...which I hope that I am able to offer.

Times are a changing...albeit slowly...but they are.


I find comfort in knowing that many more people care...I hope that many of you do too.

I think people are looking out for their small furries more than they used to. I have had a few people ask me where they can board their rabbits when they are away.

if I know I'm going away I check my boarder has room for my 3 before I confirm my own hol.

That is encouraging. It must be great being able to board rabbits and guinea pigs and other small pets for people.

It can be stressful, tiring, worrying, sad, tragic, hard work.....................but rewarding, wonderful, totally enjoyable .....and perfect for me......


I love every minute of my job....career, vocation........hobby.....

It's brilliant isn't it? We're in the same boat - we already have between 15 and 20 residents booked to stay with us each and every day through July and August - and enquiries/bookings coming in as I type.

When people first find us, they're always amazed that there is even such a thing as a "small furries hotel", we often have people say they never knew such a thing existed and they just googled on the offchance!

But, I agree with you Mrs Bunnykins, it's so heartwarming and gratifying that so many people are considering the welfare needs of their bunnies and piggies. Sadly, there are still people out there who think it's enough to ask someone to just "keep an eye on the bun and chuck it some food when you remember to" when they go on holiday, but, without exception, all of the pets we have come to stay are much loved and valued members of their respective families.
