Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Front teeth question

Just wondering really, how long does it take for a bunny's front teeth take to grow from the gum to a normal length?? We've had long issues with Pixie's teeth for months now and she does seem happier eating and I'm wondering if her teeh actually feel more stable?? Her front teeth went through a stage where they were very thin and looked very weak too (they really did look like peg teeth very thin and with a gap in the middle). After constent trips to the vet (who's amazing) and months of monitering closely it now looks like the base of her front teeth are now getting wider like normal teeth?? Very odd indeed but she's fine in herself and very happy and content for us to fuss over her with her favouite foods  The vet will only take her front teeth out as a very last resort which I'm pleased about.

I'm not sure but certainly sounds like things are going in the right direction :D

My old bunny had dodgy front teeth and I just checked them regularly to ensure they weren't causing her pain, sometimes they would get pussy or break and rub on her lips, i cant remember how quickly they grew though, i dont think hers ever got that long once they were bad. I hope Pixie's continue to improve. I have a Pixie too
