Temp change ?

How does temperature change effect a rabbits health, eg: when Steel was castrated the vet said to bring him in for the night till recovered from the anesthetic .
But advised to put him back outside in the shed the next day as it's not good to bring him in then take him out again.... How would it effect his health ?

The change in temperature could cause respiratory problems such as snuffles .when rabbits get a case of snuffles they are more prone to getting it in the future when under stress etc.

A Rabbit who has just had a GA may not be able to maintain their body temperature. Hypothermia is a real possibility and this would be very serious.

In general Rabbits can cope in cold temperatures as long as they are not exposed to drafts or damp. They dont cope with drastic changes in environmental temperature, hence going from outdoors into a centrally heated house and then back outside again can cause physiological stress leading to the development of health problems such as respiratory tract infections and/or gut stasis.
