Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Advice for Libby please

Hi,
I am pretty experienced with Stasis!
However, my bunny Libby is in pain grinding her teeth and not eating.
She was lively and eating at 5pm and there were plenty of droppings from both bunnies earlier. I have seen her wee also.
I have given her 2ml of gripe water as I don't have any Metacam that is anywhere near in date.
What do you think about 30 minutes before I take her to the emergency vet for pain relief ?
Any other suggestions?

Nicki

I have just taken Frosty to the vet for not eating. He was just sitting looking miserable.

Hope Libby recovers and the vet gives her pain relief. Good luck. Its such a worry isnt it?

Thanks for your replies,
I hope Frosty is alright.
I had just phoned the emergency vets when she started to perk up and lick my finger.
She has taken some Fibreplex on a banana coin and is eating herbs, so I think the gripe water may have done the trick for now.
I will obviously monitor her output very closely.
She is moulting heavily and I imagine this has caused the problem.
It's so horrible when they are teeth grinding!
Would anyone suggest another ml of gripe water later or wait and see?

Nicki

hope she picks up soon, yes I have a badly moulting bun here to and last night and tonight she has past string of pearls, so I know she has been ingesting it while grooming herself, last night I gave her a good groom, so hopefully she isn't at risk of taking in anymore, that might cause a problem
