Anybody near Evesham - where to get hay?

Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong bit! But I just wondered if there is anybody near Evesham and wondered where you get your hay from? I've bought some timothy hay from Hayforpets which I don't mind paying full whack for but I'd like to buy some meadow hay in a bale from nearby so I can get it cheaper. I don't really drive so it would have to be fairly close as I would have to persuade someone else to drive me there! Thanks :)

Have you tried looking near you on Gumtree or Preloved? I have a supplier but they are based in Snitterfield and I think it would be quite expensive for them to deliver to you. I think there's a lot of hay available around here though so I bet there is someone near you.

Thanks I did have a quick look but there were none immediately nearby that I could see. Plus I'd thought I'd see if anyone had a recommendation because I'm not really sure what I need to be asking - I presume it needs to not have had anything used on it, if they do actually use anything on hay, I don't know? I'd have thought there would be a lot of hay round here too but it's just knowing where to look for it!

There's Wilsons opposite ALDI'S, although I try not to go in there because they sell rabbits and guinea pigs and they also don't seem to have a clue (I have made a few complaints in the past,) and there is also a little pet store (that doesn't sell live animals) opposite the Lantern eating house :)

Hi, I buy most of all meadow hay from a stall in Pershore market. It is a pet supplies and livestock shop...no animals, fish or anything living for sale.:thumb: The hay is professionally bagged and obviously costs a lot more than buying bales of hay, but it is dust extracted, dry and so far I have never had any problems with any of it. Having boarding bunnies and guineas, I cannot afford to risk any ' nasties' lurking in the hay which might cause problems. I know, I will never be a millionaire....but at least I know that the risk of any problems is minimalized.

I do buy specialist/ treat hays from The Hay Experts and also healthy treats from Willow Warren and Galen's Garden.

I almost forgot...if you want something from the stall in the market that they haven't got in stock.....they are more than happy to order it specially for you.:thumb:

Hi thanks. Do they do big bags? I've got a 4.5 kg timothy hay bag from Hayforpets and I think I'm going to be lucky if that lasts more than 3 weeks and they have meadow hay too which I'm nearly through the bag I got from a pet shop.
