Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Urine scald bald patches - how long till fur grows back?

My mini lop Harley has recovered from a bladder infection recently but his back leggies still have bald patches - can anyone tell me how long till the fur grows back please? Thank you

It really does vary. It sometimes does not grow back until the next moult. My Inca had bald legs for nearly a year!

I don't know about urine scald but I know my two were spayed about a week apart in December and one has grown their fur back and the other still has a bald belly, even though they're are sisters.

Fiva had urine scald when he started with dental problems last October. I treated his bald skin with Sudocrem twice per day for a couple of months and now his fur has all grown back. There is now no sign that he ever had the problem.

Hope your bunny will not have bald patches for too long xx

Aww bless :) It will grow back eventually but it usually is a case of waiting for a moult. Indoor bunnies seem to moult more (probably lack of clear seasons) which I think speeds up the process.
