Did he check her back teeth at all, or just the front? The back teeth can only be checked with an otoscope. It looks similar to this but with a longer attachment for rabbit mouths
The back teeth can usually only be properly assessed under anaesthetic, as they have a lot of folds in their mouth which can hide any problems.
Is your vet very specalised with rabbits/exotics? A lot of normal vets who aren't specialised in exotics are lacking a lot of knowledge. It might be worth asking in rabbit chat for a rabbit savvy vet in your area - people can recommend a vet that's more specialised who will likely have more of an idea of what to check.
Constantly wet eyes are a major sign of tooth problems and you were right to go to the vets with it. I'd definitely follow it up with a better vet too if this one isn't particularly specialised
