Hi went to vet as my rabbits eye is wet all time he said there was nothing there and to bath her eye still worried as the sin under her eye looks bit red help pls if there any thing Els I can do for her

have her teeth been checked? recurring eye problems can be an indicator of dental disease. also, my bun mumu had bad eye problems as his eyelid was growing inwards - a problem apparently common in lops. could that be a possibility?

Thanks

Did he check her back teeth at all, or just the front? The back teeth can only be checked with an otoscope. It looks similar to this but with a longer attachment for rabbit mouths

The back teeth can usually only be properly assessed under anaesthetic, as they have a lot of folds in their mouth which can hide any problems.

Is your vet very specalised with rabbits/exotics? A lot of normal vets who aren't specialised in exotics are lacking a lot of knowledge. It might be worth asking in rabbit chat for a rabbit savvy vet in your area - people can recommend a vet that's more specialised who will likely have more of an idea of what to check.

Constantly wet eyes are a major sign of tooth problems and you were right to go to the vets with it. I'd definitely follow it up with a better vet too if this one isn't particularly specialised :D
