The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Rescue bunny from rescue where there was EC

Warren Scout
Hi,
I recently got a rescue bunny to bond with Lola after Waltie died.

Ralph had just been moved out to a foster home but one of the rabbits In the rescue developed pretty bad EC and lost the use of his legs etc.
Now I don't know if Ralph came from the same place as this bunny or if they had any contact.

But on this basis is it worth me worming him and Lola? I know preventative worming is controversial but I'm not sure how EC is passed.

All advice appreciated xx

EC is spread via spores excreted in the urine. So any Rabbit who has access to the same area as an infected Rabbit could be at risk

I would give both of your Rabbits a 28 day course of Panacur.

I agree with Jane.

Also as alot of bunnies can carry EC but be symtomless I always panacur new bunnies before bonding to my existing buns as the stress of bonding can cause the Ec to become active so I think its better to be safe than sorry.
