A face only his papa could love . . . .
He has to be washed at least once a week with a special shampoo to help with all his skin issues and also the fact that he cant groom himself properly at all as he has no front teeth and his tongue has been 'reconstructed' as it was slit in half by his teeth before we got him, so is pretty useless even though it has been stitched together so he can eat. He also has large bald patches and old abcess 'sacks' under the jawline which have to be checked - as do his hocks and 'private parts' - as he gets in a mess.
Ironically he does 'self harm' by continually licking/slobbering on his fur when his dental is due so he also has bald patches from the years of doing that before he came to us. You can see the 'line' where the different fur has partly grown back and is a different colour due to the damage to the hair roots and skin. That was his 'self harm' line.
He is a little wriggler and has to be put in this position so we can properly groom him and take off any matts and examine his skin.
He recovers quickly and loves to sit on a fleece covered hot water bottle (safe as no front teeth!) in front of the Rayburn with a saucer of mush . .
Just wish his wonky molar teeth would stop growing so he could stop having to have dentals . . . .

Poor little chap is about 18 months old and only weighs 1.5kilo - had he had the sort of start in life a rabbit SHOULD have instead of being starved (some of his siblings died) he would probably be a 'normal' size - but we have had him 7 months now (taking him on from Rabbit Residence as he needed specialist operations on his tongue and jaw) and this is his 'stable' weight on accurate scales even when he is in a pigging himself phase!.

Coltsfoot wont mind if I send them off as he doesn't eat hay or willow anyway! He not only can't eat hay or willow but comes up in skin rashes if he comes into contact with hay of grass!!! Due to poor immunities as a young one when starved
But if you dont need any hay or willow right now then just say hello to the little chap:wave::wave: as we are not a rescue and so only sell things to raise funds and dont take donations as such.
