Night in with a poorly bunny vibes appreciated

Poor Bugs hasn't eaten on her own properly since yesterday morning.

She went to the vet today and had two injections, one pain relief and one to get things moving. She is taking critical care fine and has more pain relief but won't eat on her own.

Vets felt a very small lump in belly but we decided not to x ray today and hope what we doing gets her going again.

If she isn't fine by tomorrow might be another trip to the vets for an x ray.

I don't post much these days but any vibes very much appreciated. My girl is 7 and 1/2 and not ready for her to go yet.

If she had a lump in her tummy, it could be impacted food. If so, then giving her gut stimulants and syringing food into her may actually make things worse. Has she been pooing?

Sending lots of vibes, her way.

What she was given was under the advice of the vet, at this point i can only take their advice.

Jane - we don't think so this afternoon. She was yesterday and over night but they were smaller than normal

I assume the Vet checked her teeth ? How is she within herself ?

Bear in mind that not many vets know about bunnies. :( Hopefully your vet is rabbit savvy, and if so, then I would certainly take their advice. x

Yeah vet checked teeth, ears, eyes everything. All healthy and fine.

She does look ill, I mean she looks sorry for herself. Can't think of a better way to say it.

She has cleaned herself and can move around (when trying to get away from us and the medicine!)

Yeah I know, I had to find a good vets 4 years ago when my Alfie bun developed a heart/breathing condition. We got him to 5 and he passed away in August.

If i have to go to the emergency vet tomorrow, I'm not convinced they will be rabbit savvy. So I'll do some research tonight and go in with facts etc.

I'll look tonight what we should do if its impacted food. Thanks.

Let us know how she goes. It is so frustrating when the emergency vets aren't the vets you see regularly. This is why I see a vets that are 20 mins away...they are pretty good with rabbits (although not specialists) and have their own OOH so I know that who I see will know my bunnies.

Getting yourself armed with knowledge is the best thing you can do. Don't be afraid to challenge your vets (as I'm sure you do) if you don't agree with their treatments. :thumb:

Sending more vibes for Bugs. I hope she starts eating on her own soon. There is nothing more stressful than a poorly bunny, so *hugs*.
