How Come I Can Now Have a Big Avatar ?

It doesn't appear to cause the page to load any slower, maybe Tamsin has made some changes?
 
It's to match your big personailty JJ :D (which you will no doubt deny that that you have, but I won't hear of it!)
 
I wonder if it is to do with being a Forum Supporter :?

That is an interesting thought. I have been thinking of becoming a supporter, (not to get an avatar upgrade), because I spend so much time here and have benefited greatly from everyone's experience and advice...it's like a second home.

I'll have to check into it. :D
 
The limit should be the same for everyone - 80 by 80 pixels or 19.5kb - but every once in a while the forum software seems to have a problem with detecting the size and so a big one slips through the net, as it were. Could you resize it though please, Jane, and re-upload. :D:D
