Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Excess poopers.

I'm a bit stuck again..

Donny and Lola are booked in for a dental in just under 2 weeks:cry: We've been watching them and the vet has been checking their teeth for a while now but it has to be done :( I'm so nervous, the only time they've been under is for their neuters.. They're young and healthy but still :( I guess I'm more nervous about having them inside afterwards because they hate it and I'm worrying about them not eating.. But they'll be together so that helps.

Anyway, Lola has been having excess poopers (can't spell the actual word!) for a while again now, some days I can find 1 but like today I found 3 and some random tiny bits, they're either fully formed or have been sat on. I just can't figure it out.. Neither can our vet. Is there anything specific we can ask our vet to do to help figure it out?

They don't get pellets, they have 2 fibre first sticks each a day, sometimes 1. Donny does have a few pellets actually, but I hand feed those so Lola doesn't get any. No veg or anything.

They don't have timothy hay now as I thought it was that that was too rich but even though all they eat now is a tonne of meadow hay from hay for pets and baled meadow hay. She is still keeping clean etc, but could it be related to the 2 small rough bits she is getting on her back teeth?

(I think health is the right place for this, not sure!)

Yes, Dental problems can mean that some Rabbits dont always eat their cecotrophs.

Thanks Jane, I only thought about it when our vet said it was time for dentals. Will have to ring up and see if we can get them in sooner to get it sorted out! Then hopefully she will be okay after that.

Thank you:love: I send Poppy (aged 6) and Leo (7) for dentals no problem, but Donny & Lola can be stress heads so I think that is why I'm having a bit of a worry

Also wishing you all the best for the dental.
I can't for the life of me work out how it works, but a rescue swears by Bach' flower remedy, Agrimony, for stressed out animals. Benjie (house bun) was on the verge of stasis with a fox prowling in the garden although he lives upstairs! I can only say that it's kept his gut moving nicely when he gets a bit uptight! At least you can't do any harm with it.:D
