(Sorted) - Need a rabbit savvy vet in the Worcestershire area

yaretzi

Wise Old Thumper
The vet who I saw with Nena when she was poorly has unfortunately left the practice now. The other good rabbit vet at that practice won't be at work until next Monday.

So I'm looking for a good rabbit vet near me, and I'm based in Droitwich. I will travel with N&T for a good vet - I travelled 45 mins to the current vet so anywhere around that kind of time would be fine.

Any suggestions :(? I need her seen to in the next few days ideally, but I'm not wasting my time with the naff vets around here.

I've been back to this thread and rang the surgeries suggested there http://forums.rabbitrehome.org.uk/s...-Worcester-ish-ASAP&highlight=savvy+worcester

I've made an appointment with Marie Kubiak on Thursday morning. It's not great that it's so far away but it's the closest she had and she's a specialist, so I'd rather go with her.

It would still be very helpful to know any other recommendations, as Monica no longer works at Vale vets and Acorn vets didn't have any appointments available with Pete until Friday.

If there's another specialist that I can see sooner I'd love to get her seen to sooner!

I use Stephanie Tickle at Maypole Vets. She used to work at Acorn vets in studley and Alvechurch and used to look after all the Hopper Haven bunnies.

She's brilliant with rabbits and its one of her specialties. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her

Marie is excellent, she's our vet of choice for our own piggies and all of the boarders.

Although it is a long way for you to get to Toby Trimble at Manor is great too, and he tends to do the evenings. The exotic vets there are brilliant and they work together, after Marie operated on one of my animals after a complex surgery Toby did the aftercare and was brilliant.

If it's an emergency though they are brilliant at squeezing you in, one of my rats had trouble breathing and I rushed to the vets as soon as they opened and was seen straight away

Hope everything goes ok with your little one

Yes, Toby's great too!

Although I found out today that Toby is leaving Manor and Marie will be leaving soon too :( But I was reassured that there is already a new exotics vet in situ and another one (Robert?) is due to start soon....phew!

Thank you for the Maypole suggestions, I'll keep it in mind for the future :D

Thankfully I've been an idiot and Nena hasn't lost any weight at all and is totally fine

I'm sad to hear that Toby and Marie will soon be leaving, I've heard a lot of good things about them. It would be great to know if the replacement exotic vets are any good or not. I don't mind travelling to them if they're able to treat complex problems with some level of competence :D

I'll report back as soon as I know....hopefully, that won't be too soon though!

Toby is leaving sadly but as far as I know I'm not leaving!! I will be taking 5 months off next year but will be back after that and very much planning on staying with Manor long-term. We already have a third full time exotics vet - Steph - plus, as mentioned already, Robert will be joining the team as Toby's replacement so there shouldn't be too much of a disruption.

Ooh, that's great news :D Makes me feel much better to know you're staying, I don't know what I'd do without a good vet nearby. Although hopefully the next time I need to bring either of them in will be in July/August when their vaccinations are due :D
