Saw a 2 yr old bun on Freecycle so went to collect her yesterday as I was a little concerned. The hutches were tiny, no water, the shavings in one of them had gone black. There wasn't one small strand of hay anywhere and an empty water bottle on the ground covered in leaves. The little bun had had babies a few months ago and is not in good condition. Her spine is bumpy and her coat is a bit spiky. I asked the woman what had she been eating and she said ordinary rabbit food and a few veg. Luckily I saw a bag of Wagg BB as we walked through the kitchen so I have got that.
What I would like advice re is as she is gobbling up all the food I have given her and eaten most of the hay, how much how often? I don't want to overfeed her and maybe make her ill. I asked the woman if she ever gave them hay as it is so important and she said when they go to the shop they buy some then. But there was no sign of any.
Bunny is doing very well. She is eating everything I give her, she has 3 meals a day with lots of variety. I even managed to find some Milk Thistle today. She has already put on a little bit of weight and her poops are all good.
