FAO Those Who's Rabbits React Badly to Vetergesic

Jack's-Jane

A few people have said that when given Vetergesic their Rabbits become profoundly sedated and therefore even less likely to eat. If your Rabbit is also receiving Metoclopramide, as is often the case, then the drug interaction may increase the sedating effect of Vetergesic (an opiate analgesic).

So maybe you could discuss this with your Vet and if Vetergesic has to be given maybe the Vet would consider adjusting the dose accordingly if given with Metoclopramide.

That's interesting as Ginger also went extremely dosile and 'groggy' after having this during one of her stasis episodes due to kidney pain.

Thanks for sharing Jane, will remember this.
