  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

lola eyes are really bad this time, both are really watery and she has a wet patch under her chin would anyone know what it might be, going to the vets tommorrow hopefully they can give me something to give her

oh ok thank you , i checked her front ones they look fine, i will get the vet to check the back ones again and thank you

I would think her back teeth, or maybe her tooth roots are elongated.

Let us know how she gets on

oh ok thank you, last time i went to the vets he said it was conjuctivitus , it cleared up but now it has come back and both eyes are watering and under chin is soaking

thank you so much , what sort of questions should i ask tommorrow , maybe for an x-ray ?

If he has to have a Dental then yes. Skull Xrays are the only way to assess the tooth roots. Also he may have a lot of pus blocking the nasolacrimal ducts (tear ducts) so the Vet may need to attempt to clear them.

thank you , my mum is taking me later , definiately suggest her teeth as it has never been like this before

update lola

Thank you everyone,:D lolas at the vet overnight, tommorrow her molars are being rasped , does this mean she is going to be a dental bun from now on
