Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Post spay poos?

Hello lovely people, wondered if you guys could advise.

Got my girls spayed on Friday and they've been great. Abit groggy friday night and saturday morning but have been eating/drinking/weeing fine since then and have since returned to their normal cheeky selves and don't seem that bothered by the whole experience. Was surprised by how well they've done.

The only thing I've noticed since then is their poos have been a lot smaller than normal since the op. Not all of them but there's a fair few that are tiny compared to the norm.

I thought this may have been a result of loss of appetite for the first few hours meaning there was less in their system to pass but they have been eating as normal I'd say from Saturday night, and they never really went more than six hours before I got them to eat something after the initial syringe feed the nurse gave them before they came home.

They are currently on Metacam at the moment for pain relief if that makes a difference.

Just wanted to know if this was normal or something I should worry about?

Thanks in advance.

The smaller poos are possibly caused by the stress of having the op. Hopefully they will return to normal in due course. Glad to hear they are doing well.
