Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

However he also lost quite a bit of weight before he was diagnosed with any problems... however his weight is now slowly going up!!

Yes, weight loss often occurs when a Rabbit is fighting a bacterial infection. Weightloss can be the first sign of an underlying health problem so it is a good idea to weigh Rabbits once a week (more frequently if there is a known problem). Then it gives a base line to work from and can act as an early warning sign of health problems.

I am glad to hear that your Rabbit is recovering :)

Thankyou, well he still has a slight head tilt but only shows it now and again.

Yes his weight went down to a whole 1.45kg from 2kg but has slowly started to go up again which is good.
