Rabbit's Ear - Bald Patches

Hi all,

New here. Its been like two weeks now that we've been noticing that our rabbit's left ear has been slowly developing bald patches. We took notice of this after his last visit to the vets, which at that point we thought would clear up on its own. During these two weeks, his attitude hasn't changed. Hes not been stressed or scratching like crazy. Hes just been normal and we've got no clue on what this condition could be. He's been booked for a visit to the vets this coming Monday but it'll be nice to know what this could be.

I imagine the vet will treat for mites in the first instance, sometimes they don't scratch that much with it.

What was he at the vets for? Was it straight after - sometimes they shave a bit of ear fur to get access for injections.
 
I recommend a vet visit also.

My sole bunny over groomed his ears. Is your bun on his own? It stopped when he was bonded with his wife after neutering :)

He was being treated for GI Stasis. It was pretty much straight after the vets and this is the earliest photo I could find of him with the bald patch.

As you can see it's no where near as bad compared to the previous photos. It was odd at the time because the vets usually shave his ears quite neatly.

Hi Talya,
My rabbit, Alfie, is newly bonded with his wife Rosie, and his ears are being over groomed by her! So his ears are looking rather bald. Do you have any suggestions to stop this over grooming please?
