Suspected VHD Outbreak - LINCOLNSHIRE

I got an email from the RWAF about this too sometime over last couple of days. Shows how important vacinations are.

For those that can't access the link here is the text:

**WARNING ALL RABBIT OWNERS**

We have had several reported cases of sudden deaths in rabbits over the past five days.
The symptoms all indicate a potential outbreak of Rabbit Haemorrhaging disease or VHD.

It is a very contagious and nasty viral disease that can be transmitted by contact through contact/insects/environment etc.. (very similar to a cold virus in humans)
Rabbits can die without any warning of being ill.

Vaccination is the only way to protect against this aggressive virus.

Please contact the surgery for advice

Foxhall vets are based at Ruskington in the North Kesteven area of Lincolnshire. They are a rabbit specialist vets.

Saw this earlier in the week. Ruskington is less than 20miles away, which is worrying. While all 3 of my bunnies are vaccinated I know a lot of people who don't vaccinate their bunnies and I know they won't even with an outbreak nearby :(
