My poorly boy

Some of you may have seen I posted in the health section about my boy Charlie breaking his leg. Unfortunately it was a bad break and he had to go and see a specialist in Swindon to get him fixed up. All in all he was gone 5 days and I hated every second of it. And everyone made me angry with the it's only a rabbit, can't believe you are going to all that effort attitude

However on Friday we drove up and got him. He was a bit shell shocked for the first couple of days however he is back to his cheeky self now! He is currently living inside with us but separate from his buddy ginge :( they have little visits but only when I'm there as I can't risk Charlie hurting his leg. Even with his broken leg you can't keep him down!! I am loving having him inside and can not wait for my house sale to go through so I can have both my boys in with me. Tonight i got cuddles from him  Also Charlie's leg should be healed up by then.

Here he is all bandaged up before his op

Sorry for the bad photo but here he is relaxing at home after his op

Anyways thought people might like a little update! Am going to try to get some better pictures tomorrow! However it's very tricky with a black bunny!

Glad to hear he is back with you and all bolted back together, sending lots of vibes for a full recovery.

Oh no! The poor little feller. He does look rather depressed. I bet he doesn't understand what the contraption is on his leg, why he is in pain or why he isn't allowed to be with his friend.

How did he do it, do you know?

Sending lots of healing vibes! I bet that cost you a fair bit!!

Aww, sending leg healing vibes for him, hope he cheers up soon. I bet you're spoiling him with tasty noms  I too can't stand the it's only a rabbit thing

Oh poor little man, what a stress for time for you both:shock:

Sending healing vibes for him, hope he's hopping around as normal soon

I had lots of "it's only a rabbit" too when Daisy dislocated her hip last month. I'm like you, it might only be a rabbit and she's "MY RABBIT".

I'm glad he's getting better now and on the mend. I'm sure he'll have a very speedy recovery :thumb:

I think anyone who spends any length of time with a rabbit would change that attitude pretty quickly. My two have grown on my parents like you wouldn't believe. It's quite funny! And for £20 a month I think insuring them is common sense, and once they are insured there is no reason to not do everything you can to avoid having to PTS.

"It's only a rabbit" is a horrible attitude to take, how dare people be so rude about your pet?! :censored:

He's a beautiful bunny, sending lots of love and healing vibes his way

I used to be one of those people 'it's only a rabbit':oops::oops:

Soon learnt the error of my ways:thumb:

So pleased Charlie is on the mend:thumb:

Ah bless him, hope he recovers soon.

I know people at my work think only a rabbit when I've had so much time off over this year as had to take her back the specialist or in as an emergency. I don't care though, I'm doing the best for her like you are for your little one. What kind of person thinks leaving an animal in pain for a day is OK as you're needed in work!
