Any rabbit savvy vets in Great Leigh's/Braintree/Chelmsford Essex area

Anyone able to help?

Also how far would you reasonably travel to a vets considering how stressful it potentially is for bunnies?

Thank you x

My specialist is absolutely fantastic but he's in Maidstone, so an hours drive for you. A couple of other people on here have gone to him and they also think he's great.

I often chat to people at the vets and one woman was telling me that her rabbit's heart stopped under the GA but he massaged it and got it going again!

Obviously if you don't think your bunny would make the journey then you need to find someone closer. My normal vets is in Dartford but when Doughnut's been really ill I've gone to Mark in Trinity.

Doughnut doesn't get too stressed in her carrier, she settles down after a bit and has sometimes been in there over an hour. I would travel as far as I needed to to get her to someone I know who could help her. If she was weak then I wouldn't.

I go to Orchid vets in Brentwood to see William Lewis, who is really good. Would that be closer to you?

I go to William at Orchid Vets, Brentwood, as well, excellent vet, although away on holiday until November.

Yeah William at Orchid vets is excellent, as Trudi says, away until November. Santa on here uses companion care in Chelmsford, although her usual vet has just left I believe. Spring lodge at Whitham may be worth a look as well...basically if you can't get to Brentwood for William I would go to a couple and see what you think?

I wish I could recommend someone, but I'm in the same boat as you. Although I don't have bunnies anymore, it's even harder to find good guinea pig and hamster vets locally!

*waves to a local*
