  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Vibes for Acorn

Please can Acorn have some vibes? She went to the vets today after my concern regarding her and she has a skin infection and is blind in one eye:cry: She is on antibiotics for the skin infection but there is nothing they can do for the eye

Sending lots of vibes for Acorn xxx

Did she go blind very suddenly?

I can't be 100% (you are going to think I'm a terrible owner for say this) because when I let them out in the morning it's quite dark and the same in the evening and because she's not a cuddle bunny or a stroking bunny (she doesn't really like being touched in anyway by humans). I noticed this morning when I put my hand in to put the food down. She normally run away but didn't today (her blind eye was facing my hand). I then saw it p. Her eye had gone cloudy. The vet can't be sure what caused it.

Oh, I'm glad she took her meds ok. It's a bit tricky with a bun that doesn't like being handled :D
