Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Hi Bunny Peeps - just thought I would share the above link re the brilliant help The Willows Referral Centre in Solihull have given to my precious lad Bungo -

After a lot of monitoring by my own bunny savvy local vet Bungo was referred in January this year to Christine one of the specialists at the centre at the time Bungos eye pressure was really high in both eyes - I cannot recommend Christine enough they have been so thorough with him in examining him and checking for other aspects of eye damage due to the pressure -

He is currently taking Azopt eye drops which he has three times a day - one of the critical factors has been the timing of the drops which are given no more that 11 hours apart - Bungos eye pressure immediately went down and we did reduce the drops to twice daily only to find that the pressure crept up again - but once increased back to three times a day the pressure is now really well controlled and last week was down to around 8 in each eye :D

His eyes do still appear larger than normal but not hugely bulged and we do have to keep a careful check on him for any changes and making sure all the drops are given to the correct times has been hard work and so worth it -

Bungo shares his time with pal Alicia - they go outside together side by side and are such good pals - he has loss of some sight but Bungo can still sprint around the garden and Alicia gives him confidence outdoors - full bonding is something to consider maybe in the future but being a stressful process I have to consider Bungos eye pressure to ensure this doesn't cause an increase.

Hope this helps any bunny peeps out there with Glaucoma buns -:wave::love:

Thank you for sharing :)

Always useful to hear accounts of good Veterinary Care. I have had a couple of Rabbits with Glaucoma, they too did well on Azopt xx
