  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Strawberry has been doing poo like this since early this morning I'm assuming because it was smeared all over the Lino

She's not eating her pellets but still eating hay. What's going on!!! She's also sits when she's done one of those poos because its now stuck to her bottom fur. Tried to clean some of it off but she wouldn't let me clean it properly

Eta she's now eating her pellets but what would cause poo like that? All I've given her is pellets and hay. Bun bun poos are normal so Im stumped at what could be happening

I agree that she needs to see a Vet. Diarrhoea in a Baby Rabbit is serious and always needs prompt Veterinary treatment.

I would remove her pellets for the moment and just let her eat hay. It is also very important that she has a good fluid intake.

They've gone back to normal now, I spoke to the vet and they think its possibly because she's got access to food every day now and her system may not be use to it

?! She didn't have access to food every day ?!

Not sure your vet has given the best advice to just 'leave it' :(

Doesn't look right to me and I would take her to the vet.

What do you mean about access to food every day?

She was previously in a pen with lots of much larger bunnies, she doesn't have to fight for food? Her and bun bun are underweight. Her poos are back to round balls and shes eating, drinking and running around just fine.
