Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Does the skin look normal in those areas?

Was he in with other bunnies where you got him? Rabbits sometimes spray urine over each other. If you get a damp tissue and run it down his back and it comes out yellowy that is probably it.

The colour change could either be moulting or where a mix or urine and sunshine has bleached the fur. If it's the later it will return to normal next time he moults.

You could also ask the place where you got him whether they applied anything to him fur.

I wouldn't advise bathing him, use a damp cloth and let him take care of the rest.

I agree with Tamsin.

Your rabbit looks as if he may have dutch in his breeding. More pictures would be good (just cos he is so cute)
