URGENT - Rabbit Savvy Vet needed - Solihull/Redditch/Stratford/Birmingham area.

Hi I need to find a vet with good knowledge on Rabbit Health/Treatment.

I have lost confidence in my vet and have a rabbit in need so this is an urgent request.

I live on the borders of Solihull, Birmingham, Stratford Upon Avon and Redditch with own transport and looking for a recommended vet within reasonable travelling distance to these areas.

Thanks in advance!

I thoroughly recommend Claire at DeMontfort Evesham. I don't know if that's too far for you, but she brought my Nena back from a massive jaw abscess. She worked closely with Andy Barstow when dealing with Nena. Andy belongs to DeMontfort surgery too, and he's apparently very highly thought of when it comes to dental type problems in all animals.

Let us know how you get on. I think you will notice such a difference when you go and it's great to have a vet you can trust with your precious bunny.

Maypole Vets, southern edge of Birmingham

There are now TWO rabbit specialist vets at this practice, and the only time one of them is not there is Wednesday afternoons. Steph used to be at Acorn vets in Studley, and she has recently taken on a newly qualified bunny-lover for the practice.

They are now our vets (we followed Steph from Acorn) and are highly recommended.

Thanks everyone!

I was up from sunday morning until around 6pm monday evening, where my eyes could stay awake no longer. Woke up at 7am this morning still sprawled out across the sofa!

Maypole Vets is 2 streets away, I pass it all the time. Rang them a few weeks prior to enquire about vaccinations and neutering etc. In hindsight we should have gone there. I rang yesterday morning but being a bank holiday, they we're closed.

I did get him seen by a bunny vet though. He is suffering from stress, most likely the initial moving in then losing Luna.
He is on 0.9ml Septrin and a small amount of Bisolvan for 14 days.

His weight is up from 1.3kg (2.6lb) (August 15) to 1.5kg (3.3lb) Teeth good, Ears Clear. Only 1 testicle showing an appearance so far  hoping it will appear within a month as he is supposed to be having his neutering done then.
